I have a predator for my 2003 I want get it updated for my 2006 Duramax can I update it online or do I have to send it in,and If I have to send it in where do I send it and what would it cost me to update it?

need a different part number. The hardware inside is different for the 2006+ units. The U7180 will only work on 2001-2004 Duramax trucks.

How do you know what part number you have. I looked at the hand held and didn't see anything obvious. Also, I see there is new software programs, but you may not be able to check injector balances. Is that correct?

What does it take to get the upgraded software?

if you go to options in the menu you will see the tool information. The part number starts with a U71.

To get a different part number you have to purchase another tuner. You cannot convert one part number to another as the software and hardware inside are different.
