Vortec Max 6.0 L 2008

I have an 08 vortec max with the 6.0 l engine in it. Here is the question, I use the U7194 programmer and I bought it back when I had a NBS 2007 Sierra. When I would upload the performance tune with the 5.3 engine it had stock, pergormance 93 and performance 87 tunes on it. Now when I hook it to the 6.0 l engine it says I have an 87 tune and a diablo tune. The diablo tune it much much better than the 87 tune but an I supposed to run higher octane with it. It doesn't tell you to so that is why I am kind coinfused here. I put the diablo tune on it and man it runs like a raped ape. No pinging or lagging just go baby go so what gives. I like the tune and I am sure I will leave it on there I just want to know which gas to run. Thanks

yes, the diablo tune is made for 91/93 octane...

do some logging and check the Total Knock Spark Retard parameter to see if you're getting any knock...

I will check it first thing in the morning. I guess I can just run 91 in it to just as easy. OUt here in ND we have that ethanol crap everywhere so hard to say where I can get some good stuff. 87 Tune was good but the Diablo seems to be a lot better. TM gone would be great as well but I guess we can't be that lucky. Is there anyone out there getting any better out of this 6.0 than the Diablo tune. It is a beast of an engine with a lot of potential.

After 6 months of not being allowed to drive because I had a seizure/stroke, the DMV finally gave my license back yesterday. So I am just now getting to drive my truck since getting the Diablo 3 months ago. I have the same truck setup as 18BKLR and currently have the diablo tune. I would like to get TCM support too, but for the most part I am pleased with the 2nd gear scratch I got when I passed a Dodge Dakota in town!
