cranking for long time

I loaded my predator tune last night on my 2010 Silverado 5.3. I am quite happy with the added performance and the fact the the 'dod' and speed limiter are turned off.

Only question I have is: My truck has the "auto crank" feature where you just hit the key and it starts cranking the engine. Now that I have my tune, it cranks for an unusually long time after I hit the key. Should I be concerned about this or will it "relearn" and quit this on its own?

Mine did this as well but so far only the first start after downloading the tune to the ECM.

hmm interesting. i used my remote start a lot, and only one time has this happened, and that one time the car wouldn't turn over. i got in the car and started it, then all was fine

Well I should be more clear...this is not remote start I am describing. I don't know if anyone has noticed, but on the 2010's (not sure on other years) when you turn the key, the starter automatically engages on its own for a predetermined amount of time. You can just hit the key and turn loose quickly and the truck will continue cranking on its own.

Now that I have my Predator tune in the truck, it keeps cranking for a long time (long enough that the motor is already trying to start but the starter is still spinning). I may try to re-install the tune again and see if it makes any difference??

I may go out and record a vid and post it up so you all can see what I am talking about.

Same issue with my 2010 Escalade, started perfectly for several months, installed a special version sent to my shop from Diablosport for the Predator, we loaded it and we got the extended crank condition which some times happens the first start, no codes, but we kept getting the same thing at start, so we put the stock program back in and now we get the same condition with the stock program, drives perfect, great performance for the most part. Taking it to the dealer when I get home next week for a reflash.

Disconnect the battery, I disconnected the negative terminal for 5 minutes, no more extended crank, back to normal. Best I can tell is the 2010 program is not resetting the PCM, disconnecting the battery fixes that

Well last night I uploaded slope changes for the first time after datalogging. I have 800 miles on the truck. First startup the extended cranking did occur, but now today I ran it about 20 miles for around town errands and I'm really nervous about how the truck is running. I realize I need to run 50 to 75 miles for it to relearn, but never experienced any of these driveability items with my previous 6.0. It seems there is some sort of conflict between the engine and transmission, as it is shifting either way to early or holding gears too long, and pretty much seems confused. I did one WOT from 40 to 90 on the freeway and that was fine. It only seems to be acting weird on part throttle low load conditions. I'll keep driving it and see how it goes, but am wondering how many of these 2010's are tuned and working well, or if GM went and made some unknown change that impacts this program... I was very happy with the Predator on my 07 and hope this works as well on my new 2010. Thanks.

I unplugged my battery for 10 minutes and she starts like stock now. Don't know why I didnt think to do this on my own, but thanks "hcvone" for the advice!

Any time My 2010 runs like yours, it's fine WOT, but 1/4 throttle it does strange things and does not run as good as the stock program until more than half throttle is used. I put the stock program back in until they get it sorted out.

I'm thinking the same thing. I didn't want to say too much in a public forum, but can't quite put my finger on any one thing in particular, but the truck just runs really strange with the tune in it. WOT it is fine, but part throttle is just is wierd. I know the tune does not impact the tranny, but somehow it is not shifting right. I drove it today and will have 75 miles on the slope adjustment tonight and will run a log on the way home.... Just not sure what to do, but it is not acting how my 07 6.0 did with the tune. I think this is something Diablo needs to review. One of the strangest things it did was right after I did the slope adjustment I headed out for a ride. At the end of my driveway I slowed down to look both ways, and it "bucked" like it was a manual being lugged it down...
