Super duty tune

Post by 03_superduty »

I have a 2003 5.4L F250 with 6" lift and 37's. Just changed the gears to 4.56's and installed a k&n cai also have 3" exhaust from the headers back with flowmaster 40 series single in dual out. Just recieved my predator tuner and was wondering if I can just plug and play or if I will need a custom tune?

Thanks, Dan

probably just plug and play, you can log with the pred and find out what your fuel trims look like and mod your maf curve accordingly to clean up the tune. I believe yo should be able to adjust for those tires as well.

It seems that on some of the posted topics people are not able to change there gear ratio or tire size with the u7152. I would like to calibrate it for the tires and the new gears.. Are they not changeable??

I got ahold of diablo and they told me that I cant adjust any of the parameters on the programmer something to do with the computer not allowing me to change them and the only way to change it is to have a custom tune written for it.. What is the point of a programmer that you can adjust anything with????????

You cant adjust the speedo with ANY tuner on these vehciles. Super duty speedo calibration is handled by the ABS module. Your gear swap won't affect the speedo calibration as the tone ring is bolted the the ring gear. Your tire size will affect it and you can actually get that calibrated at a ford dealer for most likely free. The maximum cal. is 600 rev/min which is accurate for 35" tires so you'll be close.

Make sure you remember the canned tunes setting for the MAF scaling in case you move it too far.
