Manual Trans-
Installed the predator on Friday in Tow setting. The power is ridiculous, matter of fact too ridiculous for stock clutch. Without the predator, I have no clutch slips -with it I've got the clutch slipping in 4th, 5th and 6th.
Also the clutch made some nasty grinding sounds a few times and that was enough for me. It's not useable because if you give it to much throttle, it just slips and grinds.
I reinstalled stock tune and everything is fine. I don't have the money to replace the existing clutch or put in a new one so I'm probably going to return the predator unless there is another option.
Are there milder tunes than the Tow setting or would an adjustable Extreme PowerPuck be an option? I'd like a little more power, but the 60/120 tow setting is to much.
Thanks for the help.

ok 2 things may have hapend here,1. u acidently loaded the extreme tune by mistake or 2. ur clutch was weak to begin with.the tow tune is just that,a tune with a little extrafuleling and some timing.it should by no means slip your clutch,i have ran the rkl tunes which are 10 times more powerful than the tow and i havent slipped my clutch and i was romping on her,if you have weird noises from it i think your clutch has issues that are not programer related.my dad has been using the tow tune for over a year towing pretty heavy and has never slipped his clutch either.i have read the newer 6spds are not as strong as the older ones.basically said the tow tune cant slip a healthy stock clutch,i have never heard of that hapening.

That tow tune adds about 150 ft/lbs, but i would think the stock clutch can handle it if it was not beat on...

I verified it was the tow setting. The same thing happened on my friends clutch and he has an 06 5.9 manual trans. He has owned his vehicle the whole time, but I bought my used. I got on the throttle really hard after the orignal backup was installed and didn't have any issue. The tow setting was ridiculous in the amount of power it provided compared to the stock tune in both my truck and my friends.

have u tried any other tunes, the performance tune mite not have as much tourque which sounds like it could be harming ur trans, some trucks react diferently to tunes but i havent heard of to many people saying the tow tune made tomuch power.maybe try some other tunes
