My car is a 2006 Mustang Gt with a FRPP/whipple non-intercooled supercharger. When I connected the Predator to my car it says vehicle not in database contact for free update My cal ID is "FBNSBF8" . My Ford tune is for 93 octane and we only have 91 available and I'm getting some pre-ignition. So I need to be able to knock my global timing back 2 degrees using my Predator U7140(it has the latest firmware installed).
Thanks,
Claude

Re: Free update required
Claude, Unfortunately the Predator cannot support the Whipple tunes at the moment because they change the Calibration ID. We are working on a fix for this however I have no ETA. The only way to use the Predator for tuning at the moment is to return the car to stock and see one of our CMR Dealers for a custom tune.Cdvision wrote:My car is a 2006 Mustang Gt with a FRPP/whipple non-intercooled supercharger. Sorry if this creates an inconvenience,

That sucks. I sent my Ford Racing pro-cal tool in for a recalibration to work on 91 octane fuel and the post office lost it. So I was hoping to be able to use my Predator to make the timing change until I had the chance next month to get a dyno tune. Now I'll have to reorder the pro-cal tool from Ford for $240 just to be able to put the stock tune back in so I can get a dyno tune.
You may not want to buy another Pro-Cal tool. If it works like most tuners it should be vin locked and the only one that can return your car to stock will be the original one you had. This is just a guess on my part I am not totally sure but that is how our Predator works. When you get your car custom tuned you can have the dealer flash it back to a stock Mustang cal. Just get your tuner to load a base file to your Predator before you go the the dealer so you have a tune to load back into it. Hope this helps.Cdvision wrote:That sucks. Hey Kevin, I talked to Ford Racing and ordered a replacement pro-cal that is specific for my cars vin and loaded with a 91 octane tune for the Whipple.
Thanks for the input.

Cool, good to see it worked out for you. Be sure to check back with us before you get it tuned as the Whipple tune may be supported by the Predator by then.

Well at least my wife is happy. I'm using the Predator on her V6 Pony and she loves it. I took it off her car to try it on mine without telling her. She came to me saying that there was something wrong with her car and it felt sluggish, unresponsive and shifted slowly.
So the Predator 87 octane tune is back on her car again and all is well.
This just means I'll have to buy another one for my car when I get the dyno tune.lol
Great product guys.
