2001 Chevy Suburban 2500 ecu fried?

I have the u7198 with hardware upgrade and i was idling at the drive through window at McDonalds when my truck started running rough and shaking the service engine light flashed a few times,the truck died and that was it. I was low on fuel and it wouldn't fire. It cranked fine just no firing up. So I was next to a Mobile and bought a gas can and put 5 gallons in it but to no avail.Time 4 Mr. flatbed!! I figured the fuel pump went because I couldn't hear it running.But I also lost my digital shift indicator for the gear slector on the dash????? I jumped power to the fuel pump at the fuse box under the hood and the pump turned it sounded shitty but turned.Here's the worst part the Diablo can't read trouble codes and doesn't recognize the vehicle.I had a custom perfprmance tune from Lew in it and figured i'd throw the stock tune back in to see if that would make a difference but couldn't Diablo wouldn't recognize the vehicle ,I tried a few times.So I thinkmy ecu/computer might have fried.Any ideas???? 2001 suburban 2500 4x4 8.1l

hey man!! wow, it's been a while...

nah, the stock tune won't make a difference man... this isn't a tune issue at all... you've got mechanical truck issues, not tune issues...

when you put the key on and hook up the predator to try and install any tune, what's the error message it gives you?

also, you can try disconnecting the negative battery cable for about 15 minutes to clear everything out, then reconnect it and see if she fires up...

sounds like you got too low on fuel and shit from the tank screwed your fuel pump man...

Yeah my first thought was shit in the fuel pump but why would my digital shift indicator disappear and why doesn't the predator recognize my vehicle anymore? That is where the fried ecu thought came from.

well... yeah, if the digital shift indicator shit the bed too, along with the now-not-recognized pcm, it definitely sounds like an electrical issue somewhere... would explain the fuel pump running like crap too...

and nah, if the pcm was toast, your truck wouldn't start up at all... it wouldn't do anything when you turned the key...

have you checked out all your fuses everywhere???

ever have any mice?? they like to chew on wires... have seen that happen to people I know, one of them being my neighbor...

mouse got up underneath the car on top of the fuel tank, built a nest.. and decided to chomp on a wire... so all of a sudden, my buddy had no working fuel gauge - would be up, then down, then bounce around as it made contact, lost contact, etc LOL
