THis company is quickly going from>>>>>

Post by JCC300C »

I Gave Diablo $120 plus shipping for a Catch can that would match my customers custom undedrhood (He is spending ABOUT 70,000$) AND IN every Ad they have for it, there are those black fittings, even went to check during checkout, yup black fitttings. I really hope someon can drop some black fittings in the mail overnight or I may just pack up this whole siable sport packageCatch can, trinity, por mount, right angle obd cable, and send it on back. Things like missing EGR deletes (and no announcment) and changing fittings from a sweet black to a cheep as hell looking brass fitting is not going to win you customers,

Those black fittings look like plastic. I would personally rather have brass.

the engine bay is ALL BLACK, all items (12,000$ now)were ordered from specific vendors because they advertised a product. If they were plastic and were having problems, get black ones machined. He only wanted the chrome Catch can so he could rep Diablo sport, now he's debating even doing the project (not just diablo) but several vendors selling one thing and sending you soemthing else.

I will take the hit, does anyone know where I can buy black ones?

Buy some white plastic ones and dye them black.

Sir, if this is this big of a problem for you, I have a few suggestions:

1. Contact Scott at Billet Technologies. Hes a great guy, and makes these cans for us. Im sure if you ask nicely, he will be try to help you out.

2. If that will not work for you, please feel free to return the unit within the 30 day satisfaction gaurantee period.

Thanks
Mike

considering how much money i have already spent with BT I hope they will be nice back to me, thank you for the suggestion.

I will get this worked out, but how many other people are either going to have to get this worked out or be stuck with a lokk that really uglies up a custome job of black and chrome (personal opinion, shared so far by everyone in adn comming by the shop).

Just advertise what you sell, I think thats just fair right? I mean am I losing my mind here? You know how much more is this gonna cost me with BT to get the look you guy advertise on all your pages? And honestly I think that was another reason we went with the DS catch can over teh BT one, doesn't it say "Black fittings no longer available" on ever item description for the CC>

Well as nice as Scott at BT is he can't sell what he doesnt have, apparently the supplier he was getting them from just stopped making them. So no, as nice as I was Scott can not get/make me a set of these, he did offer me 2 solutions, prob going with 2.

1. AN fittings
2. Scuff/paint/clear the brass ones.

It was nice of scott to talk this out with me considering it was not really his problem, especially since every picture and description on his site mentions the lack of Black fittings.

If I was in DS's shoes I would have changed my site ASAP and provided anyone like me that was tricked with false advertising with Black fittings. I wouldn't care if I had to lose $ on the deal, I would provide the AN fitting setup, or at least a kit at a severe discount. I get my customers what they pay for, that's why people bring me their cars.
Neither of the solutions that DS offered is going to put the advertised CC in this car.

Frankly, if the dude spent $70k on dressup stuff, he can spend a few more dollars on -aN fittings. If it was your average Joe, I'd have offerred to trade the black fittings for the brass, but I'm so damn sick of rich people always getting what they want, that this guys wife would have to give me the blow job of my life before I'd give him my black ones. :P

I don't sugar coat anything. Just ask around. I'm gonna give it to you straight out, whether its the popular opinion or not. Some people think that makes me an asshole. If it does, well, then I'm an asshole, and proud of it. :D

To be fair:

he did spend like $12,000 on dress up stuff (Kits from BT and underhood powdercoating eats cash quick) the 70,000 is what he as put into the car rear end to Radiator. He has the same day job as I do. Most of it I think is on high interest CCs, so rich no, stupid, maybe. But def in Love with his car.

Even if he was DONALD TRUMP, and he paid the same $$ you did but got a different product, it would still be BULLSHIT.

Actually I paid alot less then he did. I only paid $65 for my second catch can (the Diablo one). Gotta love Classifieds. I spent about $175 total for the main can though, which does have the brass fittings. I had to pay for the new style bracket. His came with it. I had to pay for the updated hoses, his came with them. It all balances out. We all get fucked one way or another. Best bet, deal with it and move on.

Here are some nylon black fittings, 3/8" mpt x 1/2" hose barb.

You might also consider having the brass fittings nickel or chrome plated.
