U7165 Predator for 2005 Ford F350 6.0.
My wife took my truck to the Ford dealership to get a new water/fuel seperator module put on, they did not tell me that they were going to flash and clear my ecm, so now I am stuck with a programmer with no economy tune and the old factory tune still on programmer, when I plug it into the truck it tells me that it does not reconize my truck, please tell me what to do next.

RE: Ford dealership cleared my econo tune.
You need to download a update from the website, similar thing happened to me. You probly wont have shit for power no ether.

You will need copy of invoice from Ford Dealer showing the reflash. Scan it into your computer for e-mailing, or you will be able to fax it to DS. Then you will have to call them, and they will walk you thru resetting your tool to default. This was the fix for my U7170 tool after it wiped out the PATS on my Excursion. It is a PITA (I was on hold for ~ 15 minutes; thank God for cells and free long distance!) but it got the job done. Now my 7170 is relegated to code reader....

I dont even know how to download a update to the programmer, if I down load a update will that override the old stock program which is still in the progrmmer, and also do I need a special kind of cable to connect the programmer to my computer? Also after reading alot of comments on the forums should I just count my losses and invest in a different kind of tuner.

as dsquared said, it needs to be unlocked before you can update it.williamsR wrote:I dont even know how to download a update to the programmer, if I down load a update will that override the old stock program which is still in the progrmmer, and also do I need a special kind of cable to connect the programmer to my computer? Sometimes call volumes are heavy, especially after a 3 day weekend, try this afternoon after lunch.
