Driver for XCS USB to RS232 Cable

Post by magnitude »

I purchased the U7778 "interface" kit along with my U7135 Predator. It came with XCS USB to RS232 cable and driver CD. Driver on CD did not work for me, nor did any of the prolific driver downloads from this site. XCS (Chinese) site had no drivers that I could find.

I'm running Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3

Anyone with this setup know of a driver I can use?

Anyone???

If not, what cable is compatible with MS Win XP SP3?

Where did you get the kit from? What happens when you try to install the drivers?
The apostrophe does not mean "Look out, here comes an S"!

"I couldn't care less" means it is impossible to care less - "I could care less" just makes you look stupid.

XP is rarely a problem, try installing a different driver...

I got interface kit from MarylandSpeed along with Predator.

I loaded every driver, from included CD to all pertinent drivers from DS website.

I get nothing when plugging Predator in; my laptop doesn't see it and DS downloader doesn't find it.

It's the U7778 interface kit that I assume came from DS.

What puzzles me is that my laptop doesn't respond when cable is plugged in. Regardless of whether or not I have the correct driver installed, wouldn't my laptop at least notice and warn me an unidentifed device is plugged in?

Could the cable itself be faulty?

If the laptop does not recognize it plugging in it leads me to believe it is a defective cable.
