Post by SIERRA »

Newbie to all of this so please bare with ME ! 2004 Sierra 5.3,I was doing my logs today, dailing in fuel trims, then moved onto WOT spark adjust, now what the "H" is the 3 settings mean? 1k-3.8,4k-4.8k,5k-7k ! Don't know what these mean and how am I to set these? Also what does each do if I do reset the values?

those are the 3 rpm ranges that you can adjust the WOT fueling for...

O.K. I think you misread the question I asked! You answered with a fuel adjustment!I am into the timing adjustments! Also you did not finish your answer!

yes I did... that's all I had to say

so, same thing... those are the 3 rpm ranges that you can adjust the WOT timing/spark advance for...

if you want to change the timing in the low rpm range, then you select that range and adjust the timing for it... if you want to change the timing in the middle rpm range, then you select that range and adjust the timing for it... etc etc

O.k., I hear 'ya, so what will be the advantage to adjust timing at these different levels ? I see maybe if I do lots of highway cruiseing mid adjustment would be a real benifet,YES-NO ? Also may I ask somewhere in the threads I noticed someone said to adjust BOTH fuel trims, bank 1-bank 2, I never seen this on my programmer, all I was doing was dailing in a fuel trim.Is there 2 for my settings? May I say its the U 7193x.Get back to me,thanks again....

I would say no because those spark/timing adjustments are only for WOT and cruising at any rpm range will not be affected by those settings.

correct... ^ ^ ^ the spark advance settings are only for WOT...

and you have to data log both ltft bank 1 and bank 2, to see what the average ltft's are at... but the setting to adjust is only one - the injector slope... that single parameter setting affects both banks...

Thanks ,need to learn all this..

Thanks guys',learning to dail this baby in,takes time to understand it all! One important question, when I have the program set where I want it to be and one day need to put the program back to STOCK tune when I started, does the programmer memorize the tune setting when I want to install it back or do I have to go thru the whole process from scratch?

no.. once you restore the original backup to the car, the predator gets unlocked and reset to it's original condition, like it was when you bought it...

so, when you reinstall the tune, you'll need to make your adjustments again...

just write down what parameters you have adjusted to what value, then when you reinstall the tune, you can just set 'em back to what they were before. ;)
