u7198 - sell or keep?

Post by CurbRash »

I purchased new from you guys , a u7198 tuner. I had it installed on my ’03 Z06. I recently restored it back to original when I had my headers installed at LG Motorsports. They did a custom tune using HP tune software. They recommended I sell the predator on ebay, because if I tried to hook it back up on the car I could risk screwing up their custom tune.

Is there anything I can do with the unit? I’d like to keep it if possible and continue using it on my car. I would like to use it to scan for engine codes primarily, and possibly use it as a way to backup their custom tune and restore their custom tune should I ever need to. Or should I sell it as they suggested, what needs to be done in order to seel it vs. keeping it?

I powered the unit up with a 12volt source and it has revision 1.03, and I did restore the original tune.

Thanks,

Jeff

You can use it to log and clear codes, or even to adjust the tune if needed...

So, if I just use the diagnostics piece, there is no risk of coruupting the custom tune?

Can I backup their custom tune?
