Mike,

Hi - I have a 2006 Trailblazer SS and I have had your DS in the truck for over a year now and I would have to say I am mighty pleased with the product. In fact I told 2 of my buddies and one complete stranger about it and they all have bought the product - on my recommendation. That was last year about this time. It was also after I had call DS directly on a few occasions to ask about the TCM update and was told that it should be ready at the beginning of 2007.

Now I will try not to be as caustic as Mr. Harm - but I would have to say that I understand his feelings and I am very disappointed with the lack of support as well. I understand all the reasons for product delays - small company, change of owners, limited resources, limited time in the day, hundreds of different software variations etc. And for the most part I roll with all of those punches.

But if you are not going to be able to offer a product - just say so. Then I can make an informed decision on what to do in the future.

I hate being this way (because I know that everyone in under pressure and is just trying to do their job) but at this point I don't believe that there will ever be a TCM update. And I should get in line behind Mr. Harm for a full refund. And in the event that there is an update I am starting to question what the quality of the product will be. If it has been that difficult and DS is that pressed for time - how good can the update be. I am not saying this to get a jab in - it is that as a consumer this is how I think when there has been this much difficulty.

As it stands I am going to try and stick it our for a little while longer. And hope that the next time I have something to tell people about DS - it will be good... If not I will just have to ask Mr. Harm who I need to talk to....

Mike or Someone,

The latest update says it is an update for the 06 Trailblazer SS - Does anyone know what the update does?

Is it the TCM update? If so does it include better shifting for the Trailblazer SS?

If not what is the update for or do?

Thanks

Dave

it's not the TCM update... looks like it's for supporting a new Calibration ID, that's all. no tune changes.

Thanks for the info but can you tell me what a "Calibration ID" is and how do I know if I need it. I do have a 06 Trailblazer SS and the update says it is for that truck.

Sorry if this is a stupid question.....

is your predator working ok ?? can you install and modify tunes when hooked up to your truck?? if so, then you don't need it.

a calibration id is the version number of GM programs/updates in your trucks computer. if your trucks computer gets updated for some reason by your dealer, because of a service bulletin or something else you have wrong - the computer update they perform will install new/updated programming, which will have a new calibration ID.

that new calibration ID may not be recognized by the Predator - so it would give you an error and not let you do anything.

so, they updated the revision on the Predator to support a new Calibration ID - as apparently some people have this ID in their trucks and it was not supported be the predator before.

so again, if you're is working ok, then you don't need the update.
