purchased T1000.read about battery issues. keep or return?

just bought the Trinity for my 05 excursion 6.0L. reading all these things about the trinity draining the battery.

does it automatically shut off or not?

does it drain power when it is "off"?

i read all the positive reivews about the product and the battery stuff is all i read that i dont like... as i read right now, it might be enough to make me send it back before i open it. it is supposed to arrive today.

im just trying to find out before i open the package and get stuck with it! i would hate to have two giant batteries get fried over a period of a couple days because of no automatic off switch, if my wife drives the truck i dont want her to have to worry about dealing with anything...

This issue seems to be with the 2010 Challengers I'm assuming. Me being one of them. Not sure about others.

Yes, this has only been reported in 2010 Challengers.

well, i opened it... hooked it up, disconnected tonight because i work so far from home i was a bit nervous, but im going to leave it connected 24/7 after tonight and see...

NOT ONLY CHALLENGERS! it drained the battery dead in my 08gt and my 2010 shelby gt500. I wish i had done more research before i bought this, because the predator has the same tunes, cost less, no dead batteries.

We have fix in the next update to keep it from happening in 09-10 Challys.

I have had no other reports of this issue in any Ford or any non 09-10 Chally applications.

ok, so about 2 months have gone by and not a single issue with the batteries draining. when i shut the truck off, the t1000 says that its shutting off and it does. no dead batteries and no interferance with the keyless door entry ethier(read about on another post).
