predator u7137 needs update?

waited on hold for about 30 minutes before hanging up. I've been reading some of the info on the web sight and I just purchased the predator u7137 for a 2010 jeep wrangler rubicon unlimited. I was hoping for the plug it in and tune with ease but as soon as I plugged it in I got a message that said " your calibration is not supported we need to downgradeto continue: I clicked agreed, then I get a message that says this vehicle needs an update, update here. I see that there is a method to update, but I'm understanding I need to purchase additional equipment to connect my handheld to the pc? so that I'm clear, I cant use it until I update, and I cant update until I purchase the additional cable... is this correct.

go to radio shack and get a usb to rs232 adapter. That is all that is needed

Its not the tool that needs an update per se, but rather it is asking you to update the calibration in the vehicle.

I realized after reading some of the posts that I needed to buy the adapter and it sounds like a power sourse also. My heartburn is just not having whats needed in the box. I was set on buying one of your competitors products (which comes with the cables to hook up to the computer) but the store I bought from recomended your product, said it was better now I'm shopping for adapters and what not before I can even hook it up. It sounds like this is a regular thing, maybe you guys could consider including these things in your package, like the others. I'll most likely return it.

I honestly wish the shops selling it were advising Chrysler customers to purchase the interface kit with it, as it is often needed.

Any USB to serial cable and 12V 1 amp power supply will work.
