2008 Dodge Ram 1500 high idle at start

Hi I just got my U7137 instaled for my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi 4x4 QC, love that I was able to diable the MDS, It was the main reason I bought it. But am having an issue I thought the unit could maybe take care of. When I first start the truck in the morn it idles @ 1500 for about a min, and any start after that, even when hot starts at 1100 for 30 seconds. I took it to the dealer when I first got it, and they said it was normal, the computer was telling it to do that, and then took me to there lot and showed me 2 other trucks that did it. I have friends who have 07's and theres does not do that, just wondering if I am missing the way to adjust it, if there even is a way to adjust it, any help would be great. Thanks Rich

Thats a normal part of the tunes, but can be adjusted a bit.

Post up a copy of your last tune written and we'll whip something up.

I think I have the latest updates, u7137-9ro9.crom is my latest upadate, just did it from the website last night. I think that is what you are wanting, if you need something else please let me know. I am running the 87 octane performance tune, with the only change being the mds diabled. Thank You for the quick response. Thanks Rich

I could only get it to load on my original message, so it is up there, Thanks Again Rich Also I did turn the idel down 50 rpms to try that, and did not work, just thought id give it a try , I see how to load the tune on to this message now also, so I will do that.

Thanks, it starts @ around 1100 all the time now, and spends less time there, that 1500 start up was crazy, I have Gibson super truck exhaust, and it was very loud when you started it cold. Once again thanks, this is my first Diablosport product, I now plan to get a predator for my 2008 Corvette. Rich

What did you change to take care of the fast idle at startup?

i want to do the same thing, just installed the 87 tune tonight on my 08 1500 with hemi, i turned off mds, was really curious about the part throttle shift up and the throttle sensitivity adjustments, but want to find out more about that 1st, anyway i really would LOVE to do something with that high idle on start up too, 1000rpms would be plenty i think, and dropping down right away, anyway can i use that same tune from you john? or should i post what i did so you can work with that one? forgive me not knowing what to do yet, only my second post on here and 1st attempt with the tuner, let me know, thanks

might as well say up front im not even sure how to download my program from the tuner to my pc yet, is there instructions or a pdf somewhere for that, i was hooked up and got the latest updates, but that did it pretty much by itself, hehe

well i figured out how to get my last tune up, here it is, im hoping you can take care of my idle too, im in southern arizona so it never gets cold cold ....not sure how much you can adjust but 900-950 to me seems like plenty on a cold start, and i see no reason for anything on a hot start, but whatever you can do will be better than where it is now, rediculous, thanks in advance

i dont know if you can set actual rpm numbers or its a table or chart of some kind, you got his down to 1100 so if you want to try and go a little further with mine that would be cool, id appreciate it, what ive been doing since my exhaust kit is immediately on start up, i drop it into gear, it goes from 1500 down to about 950, i hold it for a second with the brake, then go back to neutral or park and it will stay there, may go up 50, but it wont go back to the 1500, anyway i let it warm up then, sounds pretty good at 950 or so....let me know if you can do anything with mine, thanks

thanks alot, cant wait to try, i believe its the 9r09, i just got the tuner last week and the other day when i went to try it it said my vehicle needed an update, so did the downloader and it automatically downloaded something, i will have to look next time i turn it on to be sure, thanks again, will let you know
