Decreased ESP (traction control) in canned tunes?
I got my Predator yesterday and so far I'm loving it. I did have a question about ESP in the canned tune. Are the thresholds raised? Does it kick in later? I did not use the ESP option on modifying the tune, but the back end broke loose on me this morning
and the ESP didn't kick in.

I am curious about this too.
The Disable feature of the Predator claims to disable ESP, BAS And ABS as I have read it. All relevant lights come on to let you know the various systems are disabled - Right Mike?
A user who has the 91 CAI tune installed said he burnt rubber with ESP ON though, so maybe the remapping is a little more than ESP can handle while ON - which is fine by me.

I'm one of the users who said I broke the tires loose with the ESP ON. I'm not completely sure but I believe it's the torque management reduction that allows you to break the tires loose. I can burn it out even longer with ESP off by the button on the dashboard. This car has come so alive from just using the ESP button that I've been a bit reluctant to use the ESP off feature of the PRedator.

look fellas, Ive got a GC and with it stock it would break loose. Even with the esp on it still broke loose, just put the predator on and it runs better but the wheel spin is about the same with the esp enabled and on. Havent disabled it yet cause tires arent cheap. I smacked it once when it was stock in the rain and all hell broke loose, all 4 tires spun and the truck got sideways bad, it didnt stop till I stopped which was half way through second. I think I got one of the good ones.

Yamaha is yours a GC SRT8 or 5.7L?

I've got a 5.7L Charger RT, and mine broke loose, too. The tail end started coasting out from under me, and the traction control lights came on. I've got high flow CATs and headers, but it never did that with my superchips with ESP on. I was thinking it's the added torque from the diablo tuner, but I'd like to hear if the ESP was modified....Mike?

TC should be unaffected by the standard Performance tunes.
Thanks

The way I understand it, Torque Management is reduced with the canned tunes. That is what is allowing you to bust the tires loose where you could not before. Also with the ESP turned off or reduced by all the different ways out there you can get even better burn outs. HAL has to much control over are cars, in some areas. From what I have read and what I know of our cars, we do not want to reduce the Torque Management system all the way though. To due so would be detremental to our drive line. Which to me says that the rear-end and the Tranny can not handle everything these Hemis can put out. TM and ESP are two seperate systems. We can turn the ESP off 100%, just not the TM system. Hope this sheds some light on the issue.
As far as Torque Management goes. I am quite sure there are no changes to Torque Management (TM).
I brought this up quite a bit before release that the Predator will not allow us to edit TM. IT should at least allow reduced TM, if not full disable (this way we can really trash our half-shafts).
I THINK this is possible with custom tuning software at least it had better be. I mean B&G could alter TM why can't Diablo?
Also ability for TM adjustments were stated on the release propaganda.
Read the first post about halfway down....
"You wanted adjustable parameters.. you got it.
Adjust your fuel, spark, idle, cooling fans, ESP, Torque Management,
more.. all up to you. "
