and a custom tune for it would make an even bigger difference... ;)
Ok, just finished the update and programmed it into the car. I must say there is a difference in the shifting. Im not sure if it is the colder weather or the update is that noticeable but I actually chirped the tires a little shifting into 2nd gear which hasn't happened before. I will need to drive it for a week to really see the difference.

I plan on throwing some headers, a cam and CAi in the spring which at that point I will get a custom tune on the dyno. In the meantime this cant hurt.

How can I get that custom tune you mentioned earlier? I plan to install the Kooks 1 7/8 long tube headers with high flow cats and Cold air intake. Can I get a tune for these mods or do you recommend having it done on the dyno by a performance shop?

I have a U7194, and loved it in my '08 5.3 2wd. I just traded my '08 in for an'11 5.3 with 4wd and 6spd. Your site doesn't show anything for '11 Chevy yet. I plugged in my programmer tonight and it says incompatable vehicle. Are there any updates that I need to make this work? I've misplaced my box over the last years and have never plugged the programmer into my computer and don't even remember if i had a cable to plug it in. I also have v.9r01 on the predator. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

Custom tune Have Volant CAI and Corsa sport cat back

Post by NeilStatler »

Predator #u7194, v.9r18, 2010 GMC Sierra crew cab 2wd 5.3 flex.

I have a volant powercore CAI and a Corsa sport 3" cat back exhaust, i have been running the 91 tune but i just added these a few days ago. my question is do i need a modified tune due to the other aftermarket upgrades? And also i read somewhere about adjusting the flex mode to come on at a certain speed or throttle, it seems to only work at stop lights or when i start to stop.I tried cruise control at different speeds and just doesn't seem to wanna work. My rig is getting horrible gas millage right now, 14-15 mpg?

you already have the 9r18 revision on yours... no need to update.. you already have the new tunes on there... the 9t18c that's mentioned in this thread, is the test/beta revision update before it was "Released" as 9r18... so, you already have it...

and no... whenever you do a revision update to the tool, it can not be married/locked to your vehicle... you have to restore original backup to the vehicle first, and then do the revision update...

nah, don't have to really...

but, if you have ANYTHING aftermarket, you DO have to pull the fuse for those items... i.e. stereo, amps, subs, alarm, remote start, trailer brake, etc etc... if there is anything aftermarket installed, disconnect it...
