Never had Trinity working 100%
Ok, Ive got a 04 Dodge Ram HEMI.
When i got the Trinity everything seemed to work ok with CROM 1r07a but then later found out when i tried to connect my wide band (Innovate LC-1) it would lock the Trinity completely. I tried going to 1r07b but kept getting PCM/TCM Calid issues.
I called Tech Supp and was told to go back to 1r07a. Eventually I had to send in my Trinity and they (jimb) did a special CROM that allowed me to run and use my Trinity and wide band. But then after logging and sending out my logs to get new tunes, when I got ready to load the tune it read my trucks PCM wasnt right (more Calid issues) and so it forced me to restore my original tune. I though no big deal, i can just go through the process like a first setup. But no, it kept kicking back Calid issues.
So with no truck running, I called T/S the next morning. Mike suggests going to new CROM 1r07c. I admit was leery to do so because I didnt want to lose my ability to use my wide band as this was crucial in getting my tunes right.
So I went to 1r07c and it worked and I can use my wide band. But now, there are new issues which make it not usable.
Originally and from the beginning always left the Trinity connected in and to the OBD port and device. Ive read where continuous disconnect and reconnect can cause issues especially where the cord plugs into the Trinity and I can see how with it being so small, this and delicate.
But I use to be able to get in the truck, start it up and drive and monitor everything with no issues.
Now, with this latest CROM (1r07c) I cannot do this. Sure I have a working Trinity and wide band but if I want to log or use the device at all, I have to completely disconnect it, start the engine and then connect the device.
That doesnt sound too bad right? Except for the fact that after a few minutes it seems to loose connection to the truck and I get an error that says "data stream has stopped. Waiting for engine start." There is a button at the bottom that says "Halt monitoring". There is one amber LED that will flash.
Well if I push that nothing happens. Disconnect the cable and reconnect and it wont let me do anything without shutting down the engine with the tool disconnected, restarting the engine and then plugging back in the device.
I might be able to log for a short time or a long time. Its never the same. I checked the cable and they are both ends are fully seated and connected. The issue seems to be with the new CROM.
So what do I have to do to get a $600 tuner working 100% and be stable???

It sounds like the connection on the bottom of the Trinity is loose. You have to use a lot of pressure to get it to fully seat. What I did was take a razor blade to the Trinity case where the connector goes in and shaved some plastic off. I removed just enough to allow the connector to easily plug in.

"I couldn't care less" means it is impossible to care less - "I could care less" just makes you look stupid.

Thank God someone here is alive. Where is everyone (Diablo) because these sections are usually pumping.
I know what you are talking about and where you are talking about as I had this issue also at one point. It had never caused any issues but being it never snapped in place I trimmed it so it would.
So that's not the issue. Plus as I said, I never had this before I had to go to the next CROM

Mike, ive been on the phone with you a few times and so hopefully this along with the special CROM jimb did for me at that thread will jog some memory. I hate to be a PITA and Im not trying to be but I just really need this setup to work as it is designed to do.
Ive got a grand in my tuner, wide band and CMR tuning and nothing to show for it yet. I just want to get this resolved. Im sure you can relate and understand.

I talked to Jim about it, he seems to recall fixing this in another crom, why did you update?\
Either way, he is looking into it.

This too we had a conversation about but I dont expect you to remember. He did the CROM for me but after i sent my logs to my CMR tuner and he sent one back, when I got ready to change the tune on my truck it said the PCM Calid was bad and forced a OEM tune restore. I didnt think much of it until i went to re-do the entire tune from scratch and kept getting the PCM calid error. Thats when i called and spoke with you and you said to update the CROM. I was leery of doing so because I didnt want to lose my ability to use my wide band but you said it would work.
And it did work and I can use my wideband but now I have this issue as a side effect.

Are you saying Monitoring worked with the 1t07ca CROM? Whereas 1r07c CROM has Monitoring issues?
Export out the dashboard that your using that shows the failure with DSDL and post it.

RE: Never had Trinity working 100%
Jimb, thanks for the assist. Yes the 1t07ca you made for me did work for flawless monitoring with the AFR but when I went to load a tune to the truck it came back with calid issues and forced a OEM tune restoration. Once being back at stock i tried to load the tune again but kept getting calid errors so I had to call in and told them everything you did and the special crom but was advised to update the crom to the latest and it would resolve it.
It did and I still can monitor with AFR but now in the middle of logging or monitoring it seems as if it loses communication with the PCM as stated above with the errors.
I will export and post the dashboard later this afternoon once I go out to the truck for lunch.
THX again to everyone

Here is the dashboard as req'
Also, my calid is 56029161AH. So if we can get 1t07ca CROM back and make the calid work, I would be happy with that.
