False Advertisement for 7194 users.

I think i might see a lawsuit coming for false advertisement on the 7194's there saying theyll work with the 2011. but they dont. the older 7194 cant go past 9r08 so how are they 2011 compatiable? we should get a free upgrade to a new 7194 if they cant make the old ones work!!. any lawyers wanna kick in?

it's not false advertising... the new 7194 model predators DO work for 2011 trucks...

the older models (more than 2 years old and out of warranty) do not...

just like if you bought a "new" Dell or Hewlett Packard PC 4 years ago (yet the warranty was only for 2 years), and the manufacturer said it could play all the latest 3D games... and now 4 years later, the 3D games require so much more processing power - memory - and storage space, that your 4 year old computer really CAN'T play all the "lastest" 3D games... so if you want to play those games, you need to buy their new model PC... right??

Dell still has the same Inspiron systems they sold 4 years ago, yet the NEW ones have different/new hardware configurations inside them...

you think they'll give you a new computer system??? heh, good luck with that... No - you want to be able to play the latest and greatest games, then you need to buy their NEW updated PC's that support the newest software programming out there...

the new ones maybe but not all!. theres nothing on there site that says that. just that 7194 will work for 2011. so if john doe buys a 7194 for his bright and shiny new truck used or has it left over from his 07 guess what diablo said it will work. but he forgot it was a old 7194.

Im certain that all the 7194 units being shipped by Diablo will work as advertised. I purchased mine 2 years ago and I recently updated it to 9r18. When purchased, it came with an older version than 9r08 on it.

No false advertising, hence no lawsuit!

Need I mention that I have an old computer that will not work with Windows 7 update or many of the newer programs that require an updated operating system?

When you bought your U7194, it did not work on 2010 models, yet it does now, right? That was not advertised when you bought it, nor was 2011 support, correct? Your tool does everything it was advertised to do when it was purchased new, and then some. Maybe we should be sued for adding things we never advertised

If I'm not mistaken we are talking about hardware, not software. HP or Dell never stated their computers would work with all software updates created in the future.

As for me, I'm pleased that Diablo keeps upgrading their software in order to improve upon my purchase and usefulness of it. When I purchased it, the only expectation I had was that it would work on the vehicle stated at the time it was designed to work on.

It puts a bad taste In peoples mouth when they buy a new truck thinking there programmers going to work. Then diablo ask like that towards em. At least offer a upgrade to get one cheaper or something. I wont buy diablo again because of it and i sure aint recommending them to anyone else. Now when i go and sell my 7194 its worthless because it wont work on 2011 models! For people that it does work on they can sell it!!

They do offer an upgrade AFAIK. It just has a ridiculous price tag attached to it. $100 last I checked.

Now, what would be nice is that an option is given as such that they'll e-mail you when your Predator is going to become obsolete so you can at least sell it.

no... there is no "upgrade program" for 7194's...

that upgrade program is for old GM class II tools, for 1998-2006 vehicles... to add the ability to data log and do internet downloadable updates...

I love the opinion that, "I'm going to sue". What a bunch of ****!! Accept the fact that technology changes and sometimes you get left behind. Yes its disappointing that my piece of equipment will not last forever and do everything, but leave the lawyers out of it. They are the only ones that are going to make any money.

So let me ask, why did you change trucks? You wanted the better truck with newer technology? If you just spent $40k on your truck, shut up and do the hardware upgrade.
