I got my Preditor in the mail today, U7198x. My truck is a Chevy Silverado 1500, 5.3 liter V8. It has a K&N filter, stock air box. I have a stock forward exhaust, but deleted the muffler. (strait pipe) All sensors in place, and the truck runs good. But, I know it can be better. I set up the DS and saved a live data feed on my truck. Everything from idle, sustained speeds, and full throttle.
I tried navigating the tune modification screens, but to be honest, it's all greek to me. I've also tried searching on the forums to attempt to avoid these questions, but I never really found what I was looking for. There are no explinations as to what changing each feature does, and how my mods may effect the tune i've installed. I've currently running the Diablo tune under performance tunes. I'm assuming that is the high octane tune. The fuel i'm running is either 91 or 93, to be honest, I don't remember which one it was I filled up with earlier this week.
I want to take the data i've got uploaded to this post, and use it to fine tune the current tune to make it work better for my truck. I'm looking for power and fuel mileage. I'm not sure what i'm looking at with the live data, and i'm hoping one of you class acts can decifer the info for me. Any pointers on how to read it, and make adjustments is much appreciated.
If anyone one of you guys is in South Carolina, come by the house and give me the play by play, all i'll make sure you get a fat ass steak and all the beer you can drink. (we'll have to stay in the garage though, my wife is funny like that)
Thanks in advance for any tips, suggestions, and such. I'm looking forward to unlocking the full potential of this product. On the way are some pacesetter headers, ORY, and a Magnaflow single stage muffler. I've also got a Powerbond 25% underdrive pulley, MSD plug wires to clear the headers, and some TR55 plugs waiting to be installed. I've got a custom tune for the Diablo being put together for when those mods are installed, in the works now.
Thanks again!!!!!

RE: modifying current tune
OK, Found this link and it was very informative. I'm still interested in more information on my vehicle specific application
RE: modifying current tune
for those mods you're going to do, yes, a custom tune is the way to go... and it sounds like you said you already have someone doing a tune for ya, so you should be all set with the custom tune once you get it..

RE: modifying current tune
If you modify the tune using the 87 Octane tune (adjusting injector slope), do you have accomplish another live data run and adjust fuel trims again if you switch to the 93 Octane tune?
