Cruise control XXXX

Post by inrandy39 »

After turning off the ESP in the quik adjust menu I noticed that the antilock brakes are disabled, and also the cruise control will not work.
I think we should be able to disable all the traction control stuff while leaving the antilock brakes working along with the cruise control. I feel like the antilocks were disabled to help with power braking, but I want an option for everyday driving that lets the cruise control and the antilock brakes work. I can handle the power of my Charger but on wet roads if I have to avoid an obstacle I feel like the antilock brakes are a good thing.
Any thoughts?

You're only option there is to leave the ESP enabled, as otherwise everything else has to come off with it.

Thanks

This is not a case of Diablo not working on it, but rather how the car is designed. The ABS and ESP are electronically intertwined systems and both use the ABS pump. You can't turn 1/2 the pump off.

That makes sense, I have used the dash button and the "key to start while driving" trick and really can still feel the traction control kicking in. With your ESP off I did not feel any interactions besides my right foot which is the way it should be.
What about the cruise control?
Thanks very much for your inputs,

inrandy39 you could disable the ESP another way without the tuner. while driving 15mph min you turn the key for 3-5 seconds. it will fully disable ESP.
07 CHARGER R/T: 6.1L Cam, springs, & rods, Dynatech headers W/ Hi-Flow Cats, AFE CAI, Catch Can, Flowmaster Catback, Jet 180 T-Stat, Hotchkis Sways. All installed by myself, I paid no one for installation of any mods.
Future mod wishlist: Pedders suspension, heads, bigger cam, LC-1, & Nitrous.

Are you saying that my "turn the key to start while driving slow" is the same mod as your no ESP without the antilock disable?
Again why is the cruse control disabled?
Thanks

The last time I did the turn-key mod to see if it is the same as the Predator ESP off mod I could not control the tire spin with the gas pedal. I also noticed that even though I had turned the cruise control on before I left my driveway just to make sure that it would come on, after I was done playing on the wet roads the cruise control was not still turned on.
What I am asking for is to disable all the TSC and allow the antilock brakes to be still active. I still feel like the computer code controls both and could be adapted to allow both systems to work and only kill he cruise control when needed.
