Check engine light after uploading tune

Post by DADNSONCAR »

I have a 2010 challenger se I updated my crom to 9r07 I also had to update my cal id I did all that then went to load my 91 oct tune got it done, then unplugged and went to start car and the check engine light came on. I plugged predator back in and went to diagnostic and checked for codes, it comes back u0101 unknown. So I cleared the code and the check engine light went away. My question is why did this happen and what effect is it going to have?

0101 is Mass Air Flow fault. Can't advise on that, but it's a good idea to pull the engine fuse after loading tunes to clear the adaptives. Some people have reported other weird issues after loading tunes without resetting the Engine management computer.

Do the 3.5s even have a Mass Air sensor? I know the Hemis don't, but not sure on the 3.5.

I get this code 1 out of 3 times I use the predator. talked to folks at diablo a couple times and nobody seems to know why. Search google for this code and challenger and you will get a bunch of hits for all LX vehicles.
It is actually a "lost comm with TCM" code, but yet the predator doesn't talk to the TCM on the challengers from what I was told. I just clear it and live with it now. Car runs fine, but I don't want to drive around with the light on.

Well I've made updates before and reloaded my tunes but this is the first time this has happen, I drove the car today and it didnt come back one but it just made me a little nervous why it came on in the first place.

yeah, my one out of 3 times might be more like 1 of 5 times. I just know I have had it a few times in the last year. A friend with an SRT gets it every single time he changes one of the modes for the trans.

this happens because you unplug the predator with the car still in the ON position. just turn it to off before you unplug the pred and you wont get the code

I will try that. WOnder why the predator states "you may now unplug the predator" never states turn the car off. Figured someone would have told me that the 2-3 times I called tech about it. Oh well. No harm.

This is also happening on the T1000s too :) Just ran into it too after updating the incremental updates and reinstalling the 93 Oct CAI tune.
