P0128 Code after a year of having a 180T-stat installed

Post by ccolotti »

I have a 2010 STR8 with a custom tune that just today popped the first code for a P0128 Thermostat code. I have driven it 6k miles with no issues so I am wondering if this sia one time thing. Maybe the IAT sensor is not getting a reading as I did replace the CAI from one type to another, but it has been driven 1k miles since. The temp came up but was it just not fast enough for the PCM to be happy? Is there a way to tweak it but keep the rest of the tune file the same? Again maybe it was a one time thing.

This happened to me 2 or 3 times since January. Has not happened since temps are above 50 now. Did not happen before the 9r28 tune, don't know if there is a connection. Not sure if this happened before the new tune or not.

I know this probably doesnt matter but, I have a 7137 and a 3950 and I have not had a code for the last 3 years running a 180. Maybe the newer calibrations and ecms. Could be the brand of thermostat.
