Trinity for gauges/logging only?

Can the Trinity be used for monitoring gauges and datalogging only, and not for tunes? My tuner only uses SCT, and I was wondering if the Trinity could be used, with the tune being from the SCT. My car is an '11 Mustang 5.0.
