U7194 - 9r25 - Diablo Tune
I purchased my Diablo Predator a couple months ago and wanted to run a few tanks of gas through before I made any posts. With that said...here is what I can say:
In short: WOW!
Throttle: The improved throttle response on my G8 alone justifies the cost of the Predator. I had a slight lag in throttle response with the factory tune, and being that I use 93 octane gasoline anyway, the predator seemed like a great add-on for my new car. Now with the Diablo tune on my LS3, not only has power and pickup increased, but no more lag while at stoplights!!
Horse Power: Though I haven't had a chance to get my car on a dyno to confirm the suggested HP increase (20-25) on this site, I can definitely say I feel an increase in power as I have driven my G8 pre & post Diablo tune and I even restored the factory tune to show my friend (2010 Camaro SS) how great this product is. Not only did he also notice the increase in power on his car, I truly felt the lack of performance for that short period of time when I was back on the stock tune
Nevertheless...you better believe I took the tune off his car and put it back on mine Fuel Economy: Ok this part is a bit tricky. Being that I have a fair balance of both City/Highway driving, and dealing with a lot of traffic living in a large city, plus a heavy foot...the MPG increase varies from week to week
However I will say that on average I am seeing anywhere between 0.5-1.5 MPG increase in fuel economy.Diagnostics: My check engine light came on about a month into using the predator. I was able to run diagnostics on my PCM and was not only able to clear the CEL on my own, I was also able to get the CEL code to better diagnose the problem. (For those wondering I had a bad gas cap, which I have replaced and no more CEL!).
(TL;DR) So to sum up, this product is worth every penny! Between the performance increase and fuel economy savings, this product will easily pay itself off over the lifetime of the car, while making the ride that much more enjoyable
