How much horsepower gain if you have a nitrous on the truck? Is it really necessary to have this engine additive to boost up power in a short period of time.

Nitrous can make as much as 150hp on a Ram. Its really only useful on the track though. You don't use it on the street. And once the bottle is empty, the power is gone.
