idle

Post by wburners »

2006 mustang gt comp cams, delete plates and o/r x pipe. Had it customed tuned for these mods. Afterwards when turning the a/c on and after driving at highway speeds when I come to a stop my idle hands at 1000rpm and then slowly drops to normal. with the a/c off it doesn't do this. I understand when turning the a/c on the computer will compensate for the extra load at idle. But I don't think it should hang up after driving. I emailed the cmr about this and he said this was normal. Anyone else had any problems like this? If so any suggestions? Don't think cleaning the maf or tb will help because it doesn't hang up with a/c off.

I would not necessarily agree that it is normal...well, its normal if it was not corrected in the tune.

There are generally AC idle rpm adders that can be adjusted to make this a little smoother....

Thanks Mike. I hope TSS reads this because when I emailed them I guess I dfidn't explain it or phrase the question right.

You'll likely need to get some logs of the event happening so he can see whats going on...these cammed 3Vs can be tricky.

Mike's right. Send a detailed log of it happening and we can go from there.

I sent TSS a datslog. I hope it was enough info. Cars idles fine coming to a stop without a/c. Just with a/c on after driving it. Actually I lowered the rpm down to 722 rpm for more lope which is what I want. Thats why the idle hang bugs me with the a/c on when coming to a stop light or sign.
