11 Corvette A6 questions

Post by jkeithv »

I just purchased an inTune for my 2011 Vette GS with auto tranny. I know the shift firmness and shift points are adjustable. But, does it affect (shorten) the delay between paddle pull and actual shift when in sport mode? I know the 2012 tranny software was modded to decrease this delay in the 1 through 3 gear upshifts, but it seems this change is not available for upgrade in the previous model years :( Just wondered if inTune changed those parameters.

Also, my only mod is a Killer Bee 2 intake, along with the exhaust mod switch to have the dual mode open all the time. Will this have any affect on the canned 91 octane tune? When I add cams/headers etc in the future, I'll get a custom tune.

Thanks!

It doesn't change that. Wish we could upgrade to the newer TCM software. I've been trying to get the ZL1s TCM tune on my V also, to lessen the times and keep the next gear pre-primed for quicker shifts. DiabloSport says they can do it, but that requires the vehicle to be at their shop in West Palm Beach. The dealers don't even wanna try. I've tried 4 different ones, plus called Caddy in Detroit direct. Normally, they kiss my ass, especially my normal dealer, but on this, they don't want to play.

May want to look into getting real paddles instead of the worthless buttons. S2T was working on them for the Vette, not sure if they ever finished them. They don't make you shift faster, but they work so much better then the buttons. Have them on my V and will never go back to the buttons. Don't know what GM was thinking. www.s2tpp.com

I knew it seemed that GM was keeping that new TCM software on lockdown! The Vette has small paddles, but I have been looking at purchasing/fabricating something a little bigger/better. Those buttons on your V would drive me nuts!

I received my inTune yesterday and updated it last night to application 1r02c. I installed the 91 octane tune to my Vette today, and everything seemed to go well, but I show no TCM parameters to adjust. I reloaded the stock tune, then reloaded the 91, but still nothing. Am I missing something? They should just be listed in with the other parameters to adjust, correct?

does it read a copy of the TCM tune?
it would be sitting in the tunes folder on the intune drive.

Thanks

These are the only 2 things in the "tunes" folder.

What do you mean by "getting older TCM calibrations added"? My car is a 2011. Supported Corvettes shows 1997 to 2013. Is that not correct? Or am I misunderstanding something?

Also, I noticed some vehicles have separate parameters for CAI, as well as octane. Is that available for my car? I have a Halltech Killer Bee 2 and it's been idling a little rough no matter what adjustments and checks I make to the intake.

So far I like the changes the ECM has made, and the removal of torque management is quite noticeable :) I bought the inTune to adjust my tranny also, so I hope that's available.

Thanks for your help!

meaning its not the latest calibration available from GM.

Trinity can read out any TCM calibration, we're working to make inTune be able to read older, unsupported calibrations out as well.

So would it help or be better if I could get an update to the TCM from my dealer? If that's possible.

Any idea how long before the update would be available?

I went to the dealer and got my oil changed and had him check for any updates. He said my car had all the latest software. So I guess I'm still confused as to why I can't get the TCM tune. My year is listed as being supported.

On a side note, I purchased the car used a few months ago, so told him I wasn't sure if it was all stock. With the stock tune reloaded, he told me it was all stock. So nothing showed, like some people are worried about :-D
