Duramax transmission shift

Post by john2115 »

So i just installed the intune in my 05 duramax and just used the economy 65hp tune. When i get on the gas to get to freeway speeds from about 30 mph it just shifts weird it feels like its slipping and then catches, it just feels too smooth. It feels the same from a dead stop am i over worried because its so smooth? Is it supposed to be like that?

Maybe the smooth shifting are meant to be more "economical" if you really use a Economy tune. The only thing i remember from a Duramax was anything BUT smooth shifting. Once again, it was a comp truck...

gotta give the allison time to relearn, drive it normal for a day or so to learn the new torque output, then the trans will feel better.

does your 05 have the electric/manual shift option?

no it does not, i figured it was relearning but just wanted to be sure. Before i put the tune you knew when it shifted it wasnt crazy rough but enough for you to know it went into gear. The tune has only been on for about 10 miles so ill keep running it and go from there thanks for the responses. By the way the little power output from the economy tune is very nice i can feel difference. I adjusted my tire size for 35's but my ABS light didnt turn off so should i drop it too 34.5?

I have the same problem on my dads 2008 duramax. Adjusted the tire size and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. service trailer brake, abs, and something else, dont remember.

So yesterday i changed it to 34.5 on the tire size and my lights are still on and im getting kinda annoyed. I also scanned for trouble codes and it says i have none except my lights are on the dash an ABS and SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM. Is my tuner not working right or what? I have no way of getting these taken off and the ding noise is driving me nuts.
