You will be fine selecting a 2011 ram. You can change the vehicle type in the options menu at any time.Ford2Ram wrote:Thank you for your reply. Insisting he give me an answer sounds like I was being pushy, which I was not. I simply said that I would live to hear a best guess rather than nothing at all. I was also very courteous throughout the entire call, because like I said, I'm sure you guys have had enough people being rude when it's not one persons fault. I'm sure you're all working as hard as you can do get this done.
So selecting the 2011 button upon setup won't mess anything up? I will be able to change it back when the tunes are available? Again, thank you for the reply!!

it doesnt work, invalid calid when i try to use the 2011 tune on my 12. and gauges dont work either.
Re: 2012 Ram 5.7 Hemi
So I'll update to the 2011 first and give it a shot. That would really be great if I could use it that way for the time being!! Thanks for your reply!!winstonfmcbride wrote:it doesnt work, invalid calid when i try to use the 2011 tune on my 12. and gauges dont work either.

Re: 2012 Ram 5.7 Hemi
i thought that i did upload the new 2011 tune on my trinity.
Re: 2012 Ram 5.7 Hemi
Do the 2012s have a different computer? Before they released CTS-V support, I was able to pick any vehicle that they supported with the same protocol (in that case GMGas, u7194), even if it was a different computer, and it would let me use the gauges and drag tree and stuff.

the pcms are the same. i have the option to choose the 2011 on the trinity but it has an invalid calid and then if i try to use the gauges it has an error saying it needs to update.

Re: 2012 Ram 5.7 Hemi
So you're actually trying to use a tune as well??! Be careful with that, because I would imagine that would really mess up your truck. My neighbor just bought a 12 Ram also, and he's all pumped that his friend gave him a tuner that's Chevy specific. Not only does he think it's gonna work, but his "buddy" told him that there's a 4WD function that'll make his 2WD into a 4WD!! I tried to tell him not to use it at all, and that it's impossible for a tuner to make a 4X4 out of a 2WD. He doesn't believe me!!! I'm just waiting now to see a tow truck come and get his truck because the computer is destroyed. I really did try to tell him...winstonfmcbride wrote:it doesnt work, invalid calid when i try to use the 2011 tune on my 12. and gauges dont work either.

Re: 2012 Ram 5.7 Hemi
the pcms are not the same at all, the 11 uses the NGC4A, the 12 uses the new GPEC2, totally different ballgame.winstonfmcbride wrote:the pcms are the same. i have the option to choose the 2011 on the trinity but it has an invalid calid and then if i try to use the gauges it has an error saying it needs to update.
If the 11 Ram still had the NGC4a, it would be released already.
Thanks

Re: 2012 Ram 5.7 Hemi
This sounds like its a new ballgame. For the 2012's, and it may take as long as it did to get the 2011's. Am i correct( hope not)? I have 2 weeks left to return my Trinity, and get my money back, should I be considering this? I will have a tuner for my truck, but no use tying up the $$$ if its going to be months (years???)
Thanks much

You guys are maybe trying to hard to get this.
We already support the GPEC2 in the cars, its the same in the trucks, it was just IMPOSSIBLE for us to support ALL applications at one time, we had to draw a line somewhere
12 Ram and Wrangler are in the works at the moment, and will be released as soon as we are 100% positive that all is working well.
Thanks
