Falln behind

Post by kevoscamaro »

With HP Tuners and EFI Live we can tune the Delco ECU the LFX comes with, and since he LFX has app 15% better fuel delivery no fueling issues with 7-8# of boost with the SC vs being limited to 6# with the LLT.

Oh yea trifecta too. Maybe you guys need to rethink the LFX engine. I've seen the LLT engine being a pain but if there's 3 diff platforms tuning the LFX I'm sure you guys could do somethin with it tooo. Did you guys try the LFX???

If you guys ever do offer a tune for the LFX I would be the first 1 to buy it. Hell I'll even put a deposit on 1 right now.

doesnt matter what PCM it uses, there will be no gains from tuning it unless you modify the engine....

since we're falling behind, ask HPt how many ford PCMs they support?
How many Chrysler PCMs do they support (lol).

We're ahead of the entire industry in most regards, keep that in mind :)

Your right. My bad. I'm just wrapped up in GM. Supposably they got 20whp out of a stock engine using hp. Ill find graph. Give me a min.

Rhino had to work on some other stuff Friday/Saturday, so just getting back to it. So far just tweaking the AFR and timing he's up to 262 RWHP. They are working on an issue with the throttle position below 4K RPM. It appears to be limited to 60% which is limiting the commanded torque. That may be because of the intake design, in which case they won't gain much, but if not they may be able to add some low-end power. After that they will do the VVT timing and we'll have a nice 87-octane tune. We'll then do a 93-octane tune once we put in the new in-tank pump (gotta drain the tank anyway).

Another update. The 249 RWHP was just one pull with the stock tune. The others have all been 235-237 pretty consistently. So, 249 may have been a fluke.

That said, they figured out how to get around the TPS/Commanded TQ issue and it went up to 275 RWHP!!! They didn't say how much it gained down low. Now on to the VVT tuning. Hopefully there's a bit more they can get from that.

Sorry for the image, looks like it got cut off. I'll have him send another.

Basically, after tuning he did three pulls with the factory tune and three with his tune. Car was pretty hot so it might have been a bit better with a cool down. Since we were trying to just look at gains, this is good enough. By the way, after cleaning up the AFR and timing there wasn't much gain from the VVT tuning. There was a pretty nice bump in the low-end torque with the TP/Comm Tq change -- it's just hard to see with the graph cutoff on the left and bottom. Remember, this is 87 octane, so we are not running as much timing as we could (about 2 degrees less than what the factory tune had, but there was a lot of KR).

I can't get graph to upload on here.

Graph can be seen camaro5 forum / forced induction/ v6 supercharger turbo nitrous / out with the old in with the orange. Post 117

I'm tryn.

Thought you LFX owners might want to see this. I will ask to please not crowd up his thread with too many questions.

Starting with post number 88 on this page:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...=258249&page=4

He cautions that it is little more than testing and dyno runs at this point and nothing concrete, but it looks very promising to me. I'm excited and I'm not even an LFX owner. He is going to turbos soon so he won't be seeing the potential of an NA LFX all the way through. That is up to one you out there

Of course if you do this you run the risk of losing your powertrain warranty alltogether....but thats just the way it is.
