you can still access the drives, but no, I dont imagine a linux based updater application happening.

considering the hurdles you have to go trough to get anything int he apple app store, I would imagine if we do anything, it will be Android first (only?).

Android is inferior to iOS though. Plus you already have the connectors that fit in the Apple connector with the inTune and early Trinity. If you did an Android app you'd also have to design new hardware to make it work with an OBD-2 connector.

Anyway, it doesn't seem that hard if you play by the rules.
