2012 2500 Hemi Problems
I downloaded the new "F" update, plugged it into the truck, and it gives me "Trinity dcx_gas not support Calid: 68065909AD." So, I plug it back up to the computer, do the Calibration Update, plug it back into the truck, and click performance. It goes through the update status bar, asks for a key cycle, then says FAILED. I click "More Info" and get this error: "PCM: bootup string missing/VPP issue"
This was all last week. I called DS Tech Support and they say it's a defective tool and to send it back. Well, I didn't want to wait that long so I bought another one from a different vendor, which was drop shipped from DS on Monday and delivered to my house today so it should be fairly new. I figured if it was a defective tool, I'd send it back and swap out my old Predator on my Charger SRT8, so it wouldn't be a worthless purchase.
Well, the new one does the same thing. What's the problem here? It's a 2500 Power Wagon. The only mod I could see that would cause an issue would be my aftermarket stereo, but I know there are several other users that are using the same PAC wire harness without issues. What are my options?

Its our Power Wagons! I had the same crap with the other company's tuner, now it's working. Haven't got my Trinity yet, but I hope its an easy fix (BD took two weeks!). Hopefully they're on it with a little more effort than the other guys were.

Make sure that when you load the tune to your truck, you fully put the key to "on" not just to "acc". That step caused me problems for a week.
Not sure if that will help you, but i was getting the same errors before.

I made sure it's not on demo mode and that I'm turning the key all the way to on.
I talked to Vas yesterday and they seem to think it's a software issue but all the engineers who can confirm and correct the problem are on vacation until the 2nd...

Re: 2012 2500 Hemi Problems
I just sent this to the support email but figured I would post here as well.
Truck is a 2012 2500 Power Wagon and I am getting a “PCM: bootup string missing/VPP issue” error during the calibration update. After talking with Vas on the phone this morning, he indicated that it could be a voltage issue. So, I removed the battery cable at the battery on all my accessories, which includes winch, air compressors, amps, power steps, HID lights, and off-road lights. Then I hooked up the battery charger for awhile, didn't really charge since voltage was already at 13V. Still getting same error with two separate tools, so I think we can rule out a voltage issue… Anything I can do on my end to troubleshoot?

Re: 2012 2500 Hemi Problems
I have a couple of relays that get the coil power from the 12V outlet at the dash and the aftermarket headunit is plugged into the factory harness with a PAC wire harness. If I get some free time today, I might pop the dash panel off and put the stock stereo back in and unplug the wires that feed the relays. That's the only other thing tied to the truck's wiring other than the items I unhooked at the battery.

Re: 2012 2500 Hemi Problems
this specific error is most common on SRT4 models with added aftermarket turbo timers....so Id look into the wiring for sure.

Re: 2012 2500 Hemi Problems
OK, so I pulled the dash panel, unhooked any and all wires attached to the factory harness, plugged up the factory radio and still getting the same error. With all of this done, I was at 100% stock as far as the wiring is concerned. Maybe it's a Power Wagon issue?

Its possible, but they have never been any different in the past....we'll see if I can get one in here locally.

2012 2500's are with the new transmission. Someone told me they have a separate TCM, unlike the 1500s...

Yes, they do have a stand alone tcm controller from what I understand, but that should not be a problem, the cars are the same way.

Re: 2012 2500 Hemi Problems
Just tried again with the battery charger still hooked up. Voltage was 14.2 and still the same result. I hope you guys can get a 2012 2500 in there soon!
Re: 2012 2500 Hemi Problems
Any idea on a timeline? If it's going to be awhile I'm really considering going with the "other" tuner until the Trinity works. This beast needs some more power!
