Just received my inTune DCX

Post by BadChally »

Hey all, new to the forum and I just received my tuner a couple of hours ago. I have been on edge since reading all of the posts describing update problems, calibration update fails, etc. I plugged my inTune in to my PC (Windows 7 SP1) and while the process was a little slow, it downloaded and installed several updates without a problem. I will be installing the 93 octane tune into my 2012 Chally R/T 6-speed tomorrow, and hopefully this will go smoothly as well. I'm anxious to see how the tune works with my BBK CAI, JBA titanium ceramic shorties and Corsa Xtreme catback. I will post up the results tomorrow if all goes well. I am sorry that so many are having problems updating their DCX tuners. Hope that everyone gets their issue(s) fixed ASAP. Good luck!

Let me know how you make out. I ordered mine 2 weeks ago, it came bundled with the 180-tstat. I installed the t-stat but I am terrified to install the tune. The car sits in the winter so I can afford to wait. I have a brand new 2012 Srt. There's a sticker in the engine compartment that dodge flashed/updated the PCM to the AD version. I don't know if that's good or bad. I basically bought this to turn off MDS but for 450.00 I would like to take full advantage of the intune.

I have a few questions-

Does the 93 Diablo tune already account for the 180 t-stat?
If it doesn't what are the fan settings?

When adding Throttle boost is it plus or minus 15-20?

I basically what to load the 93 tune and tweak some of the settings on the 93 tune.

Does anyone have settings they are using without knock issues.

Any feedback is appreciated. I'll probably put a call into Diablo when I get my courage up to install.

Thanks
Paul

Yeah, I'm sitting here gritting my teeth while mustering up the fortitude to go and tune my car. Everything updated last night just fine, so I think it will work okay. I believe that there is a setting outside of the canned tune that allows you to start the cooling fans at a lower temperature, which would be what you need if you install the 180 deg. stat. I would say that you want to add positive throttle boost; since the throttle is controlled electrically, reducing voltage would make it more sluggish. Not positive...just a semi-educated guess. As for knock issues, I think perhaps some folks were running less than 93 octane gas when they flashed their cars, and the knock occurs until they burn off the less-than-premium fuel in the tank. Again, I don't know for sure, but it makes sense. I've run 93 in my car since I bought it, so I don't expect any knock issues.

Good luck and give it a shot. It's what you bought it for!

Well, so much for my optimism. Everything seemed to be going well until it got to the end of the upload and it said 'Error writing file" or whatever. Went into recovery mode, but of course there was no factory tune to restore from. Tried uploading again, and got an "Error reading Map" message. Can't get away from that screen on the DCX, so I turned the ignition off and disconnected it from my car. My car is dead naturally; it won't even turn over. It's my DD and I need it for work Monday. Downloaded current calibration file this morning. I never had any problem tuning my Mustang with my SCT handheld. Anyone have any ideas?
Never had the option to load a particular canned tune (93, 91 etc.); when registering the device last night I had no Dodge Challenger option in the drop down. Needless to say, I'm very pissed!!!

Here's my info file:

Okay, so why does my info file say "unsupported vin'? It's a 2012 5.7L Challenger R/T.

I was just going to say that. It says unsupported vin in the log file also says 0 for used licenses.
I did all the updates and mine says 3 updates applied yours only says 2 applied. Try updated the device again.

I tried updating again several times this morning. It keeps trying to download the file I downloaded today, and the device says it's already loaded. You might have more updates because you have the 6.4 and you're an automatic.

Can you reset the device and start from scratch? I still think it's suppose to apply all the updates to the device regardless of the car but I'm no expert.

No additional downloads/updates for me, so I guess the updates are VIN driven. I sent DS a nice long note about my issues, but I'll have to wait until after work tomorrow to see what transpires. This is absolutely ridiculous. For all of you suffering through this product release, I feel for ya. Is it just me, or is the DS server posting the time about 6 hours ahead of the real time?

The default board post time seems to be based on GMT / UTC time, meaning the time in London. At first I thought this was their error, but it's actually something you can set for yourself. All you need to do is click your username up at the top right and select your timezone on the "Board preference" tab. Only takes a minute.

Anyway, good luck, buddy. I'm leaving the stock tune on my '11 Challenger R/T until I start hearing some success stories from other owners like yourself. As DeNiro said in Brazil, "we're all in this together."

Sonny,

Hopefully you will get some communication from Diablo today. We are all in this together! I eagerly await how this plays out. Let us know what happens. I will be checking the boards today for the resolution of this.

As for the time stamp on the posts, it's probably a server setting the forum is on or the software setting for the forum itself.

Thanks for the support, guys. I'm at work right now, and will have to wait until this afternoon to try to resolve this. I'll post up what happens. I kinda thought the server time was GMT; just had to mention it.

when you register for a forum, you are asked to select your timezome settings....if you dont, it defaults to whatever...

this is the same with any forum I have ever registered for, not sure how it is lack of attention to detail....?
