Haywire Gauges

Post by 06 300c ya »

I have been having an issue for the last few months with all of my gauges going crazy. All the idiot lights will flash, the tach and MPH just go nuts, the service parking assist flashes on the EVIC and the warning chime keeps beeping. Usually this will happen for 15 secs. or so then stop, then start again intermittently. Once it is all done, the ESP/BAS light and the CEL are on. The ESP/BAS goes off on the next key cycle, but the CEL stays on for 2 driving cycles. It never really affected how the car ran until last week. On Friday the wackiness started and the car was having trouble shifting. It was like it couldn't figure out what it was supposed to do. Then I got a strong smell of gas and the accelerator was only working intermittently. It also only seems to do it when the engine gets into the mid 190* range. This never happened before the tune so I am thinking there is something there that is causing this. I have the CAI canned tune with no other air/fuel adjustments. One of the changes I made was the Fan operating temps. I have the LS at 190 and the MS and HS set to 194*. Could the MS and HS fans having the same setting be confusing the PCM? Any other thoughts on what could be going on here?

never, ever, seen or heard anything like this being related to a tune...remove the tune and drive the car around stock for a while to see if it continues...
