USB-To-Serial port Drivers & Cables

Post by LightningMike03 »

Here are some links to information on Drivers & Cables you can use to connect the Predator to a pc using USB:

USB to Serial Adapter

USB serial adapter Drivers
http://www.serialgear.com/USB-Serial-ad ... -linux.cfm

Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port Windows driver

I am using these and have very good communications between the Predator and the pc.

Do you need a power cord for the U7193, if you get the USB to Serial Adapter to connect to a PC ?

A power adapter is required for all Predators unless it is plugged into your vehicle.

Anyone know were to get the power supplies? The Radio Shacks around here don't have it, and it is an in store item only for them?

Thanks!

We do now offer them. The part # is U7778 and the drivers are being added to the DS Downloader. If you just want the USB to Serial and already have a power supply you can use U7773. These have been tested on Vista as well to work.

Where did you see the lengths at?

Neither of those listings have a length, but from the photos it is pretty easy to tell what you are getting.

USB converter cables are generally very short, probably for some technical reason that goes over my head. We don't manufacture them, we just resell them. If there is some incorrect literature somewhere let us know.
