How soon?(torque management)
truthfully how soon do you think the parameters to adjust the torque management on the new body style gmc will be?
Because i want to buy a predator but i don't want to buy one until that download is out because i would like to be able to adjust torque management.

Buying a Predator now or later...doesn't matter.
The update will be posted on our website, and will be available for download to any U7191 user.
Thanks

I do not yet have an ETA, but it will be an internet update, meaning anyone can download it once it is ready.

RE: How soon?(torque management)
No, thats why I keep wondering why everyone is in an uproar about getting these parameters, since they will not add any power!!!
All it does is allow you to turn off the 'GM babysitting' stuff in the PCM that is there to keep you from killing the driveline.
Gains on the 5.3 are in the 15-20 rwhp range.
Thanks

Re: RE: How soon?(torque management)
You have to be kidding! The uproar is not over the delay Mike, the uproar is over people being told over and over again that there are firm dates on the release. Many people bought your product over the other choices because of those promises. You, personally, have written here and on at least one other website that the update would be done before a certain date. Those dates have come and gone over and over again. As I recall, it has been almost 2 years since the first round of promises.mikel wrote:No, thats why I keep wondering why everyone is in an uproar about getting these parameters, since they will not add any power!!!

People don't like being told lies. Would have been far better had you and your company just stated that there was no planned release date.
As far as why people want the update, have you ever driven a DOD GM vehicle with your program in it? The shifts are slow and shuddering at WOT. I run faster in the quarter mile using the STOCK program because of the delay in shifting due to the TM being completely removed. To say nothing of the harsh DOD engagment and rough shifts at part-throttle.
You even wrote it in your above post. The TM is to protect the driveline. Gee...maybe people would like to save the unnecesary wear and tear on the transmission and still lose the TM when it is not shifting? Except that you have it backwards. Your program deletes the TM at all times and removes that protection. Adding the ability to put it back in when the tranny shifts (and being able to chose where you tranny shifts) is what people are looking for.
Maybe your company should listen to the uproar instead of being 'first to market' with what, in my opinion, are essentially beta testing programs.

Re: RE: How soon?(torque management)
Honestly, if you are looking for control of when and how much TM is used at any time, a handheld tuner was the wrong choice for you. You would need a full tuning suite for that. Also, most of our LS4 guys are using the non DOD tunes, and still getting better mileage than stock, so why keep dealing with the whiz bang mileage miser?06SS wrote:You have to be kidding! Our tools offer more end user adjustment than anything else out there short of full suites, but TM tables will never be an option, just a simple on/off.
Also, the OP seemed to be under the impression that he would gain power by removing TM, which is why I answered the way I did, so dont come into someone elses thread and start on me for the way I respond to a post.

RE: Re: RE: How soon?(torque management)
So the u7191 will NEVER have control over line pressure and all the things my DS for my 06 GM 5.3L truck has? That was one of the things I liked most about the tuner for my truck. The ability to adjust shift points and how quick and firm it shifts. I was very disapointed when I bought my DS for my GXP LS4 5.3L and plugged it in to not see any tranny adjustments. Is it just not possible to do for these cars or what?
thanks in advance for your prompt response.

RE: Re: RE: How soon?(torque management)
hey Scooter... at this point, no - we can not adjsut any tranny stuff for our LS4 cars with the 7191...
they are working on a tranny support update for our models, but other/higher-priority stuff keeps popping up on them and this keeps getting pushed back a little...
I have faith that it will be here soon though!! hopefully before spring!!
right Mike???

the engine torque management is already reduced/removed in the diablosport tunes.. there's just enough left in so you don't break/kill things...
