trinity 180 degree thermostat

Post by citiscene.productions »

hi i have a 2012 jeep gc 5.7 is there a setting to put a 180* thermostat and not cause any codes ? i have the trinity and dont see a choice for thermostat only fans, also in the quick adjust or the 87 tune i dont see a tranny setting for firm / soft ? . so if i want to put a 180* in and not cause any codes or fail ny emission test what do i do? thanks in advance

Just lower the temps. Shouldn't get the code unless you're using a JET Thermostat. I ran the NAPA 180 on both my SRT8s with the fan temps lowered and it never threw a temperature code. The JET has a tendency to throw codes, but the NAPA and MotoRad seem to be more reliable.

I never had any problems. I'm in NYC, so I have the same weather as you.

If you drop the temp to turn the fan on too much wont it cause your fan to run constant?

If you drop it too much, yes. Thats why we're dropping is 23°. Stock thermostat is 203, 180 is 23° lower.

With that thermostat how hot does coolant go up to. Am running the jet 180 and changed settings on trinity for fans but don't think there working mine is going up to from 210-226

Mine used to stay right around 180 unless I was in heavy traffic or really hot weather. That was in both SRT8s.
