Predator can't find factory tune, help

Post by typan »

Tried to reinstall original 2006 300C 5.7 factory tune back into the car when the Predator tool U7135 with ver. 9r30 said something like “no original backup tune found”, why? I do have a backup of the original tune saved on my PC, can I use that some who to reinstall the factory tune with the tool?

Under options/show last tune written what do you show? Have you been to the dealership lately?

what message do you receive when you try to tune the vehicle? Select performance, turn the key on and see what message you're given.

All is as it should be after the tool boots up & I go into the performance tune page but when I tried to do a factory tune install the device said 'no original backup found' I know a backup was done not so long ago when I installed a can tune "perf cai 91 oct tune" the backup was done before I installed the can tune correct? . If I import my PC saved original factory tune into the tool as a custom tune, can I do a custom tune using the backup from my PC?

OK, what I did is loaded my original backup which was saved on the PC as a custom tune & loaded that, then another error can up "predator not married" (can not be as I have used this tool on this car before a number of times) WTF is going on with the predator?

Everything you have posted is saying that the tool is not married. Try just writing a tune, if it goes through that means the tool unmarried from the vehicle and you're fine. I dont know what the concern is here.

Well the first concern is why did the tool unmarried in the first place? So you saying the original factory backup was lost because the tool got divorced with the car, why?? the other concern is I had a CAN tune installed, now if I want to change that CAN tune or re-install original factory back, will not the tool ask for or look for the original factory tune to proceed?

its not lost, when you return the vehicle to stock, it removes the backup from the tool. Everything is pointing towards you restored the backup previously, but if you select a tune and go through the process you'll be tuned and have a backup again. i'd suggest trying it to confirm

What if a return the vehicle to stock tune was done and only a quick adjust was done, would that remove the tune from the tool?
