So I have had my Trinity since July 2012. In Jan 2013 the unit stop powering up, So Jan 2013 I requested an RMA to get it repaired. Well with moving and deployments was not able to get it in to diablosport until jan 2014. So for a year it set in m closet.
Well now that I have my Trinity back, I decided it is time to do some data logging and see how the jeep likes the climate here (it's been in San diego, California, Washington State and now we are in Virginia)
NOTE: Since receiving it in July 2012 I have NOT updated it or anything. When I sent it to Diablosport for RMA due to the power issue, it was married to my Jeep, so I don't think they were able to do any updates.
Well I plug it in all good, I have power. Decide I would just monitor some systems while taking the kids to Dave N Busters. Well I didn't have time to set anything up before the kids were lets go lets go. So I left the trinity plugged in, powered up not doing anything. The screen finally timed out due to no activity. About 5 minutes down the road. DING! WTH looking and my right rear TPMS shows no pressure or anything, just the dashed line. I am thinking maybe the crazy weather, snow, rain, snow, sand and salt may have finally damaged the sensor. No worries I have a box of extras at home. a few more miles down the road DING! Left rear sensor gone. I am like oh this is not my day. WTH...Fine whatever I called my tire guy and scheduled an appointment to come in after I drop the kids off to put new sensors in.. Drop the kids off and start down the road..DING! OH WTH.. Left front sensor gone. Long story short by the time I drive the 15 miles back to my house to get the sensors, I have NONE, ZIP all four sensors show nothing just the dashes. I get home I am pissed now, this is gonna cost me 160 for all four installs. I try to figure out what has changed since I left work, because all day at work and coming home no issues with the TPMS.. Mind comes up with only one thing. I plugged in the Trinity when I got home from work.
So I unplug the Trinity, put it on the bar in the house, grab my box of TPMS and head out the door to the Jeep. Cranked her up and start driving. I get out of the garage and about 50 feet down the street. ALL four TPMS are live and showing pressures. I stop by the NEX and verify the pressures they are sending is actually what is in them. YEP all good.
24 hrs later still no issues.
I am LOST. I will plug in the trinity again and see if I can mount my gopro camera so it can record what happens..
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED

it could be the tool was sitting too close to the receiver for the tpms sensors....

I have it sitting on the dashboard right above the upper left vent with the suction mount on the window

I doubt it matters at this point in time since this thread is so old but you might be dealing with interference from either the Trinity or the OBD-II cable. I was having similar issues with my 08 Ram TPMS and as long as I didn't use the Trinity in which it was designed (plugged in all the time), I have no issues. Also, the interference was jacking with my remote keyless entry, too. If I didn't have remote start, not being able to communicate with the vehicle unless you're within a 20 foot radius of the vehicle, wouldnt be a problem. Kinda defeats the purpose of having Remote Start if you cant start your vehicle like say on a cold morning from your house.
And by the way, I tried all that nonsense with the RF chokes, ferrite beads and such to no solution.......

Mine would interfere all the time with my TPMS even in the vehicle just laying on the seat not plugged in - as crazy as that might sound. When I leave it home in the garage I never have TPMS warning chimes ever. Coincidence or not.

Wow, thats odd.. I would think no power to the device wouldn't let it interfere with anything.... Oh well, I just got rid of my gauge pod mount and a pillar cover and only plug the damn thing in now when I need it...
