So since the weather has gotten warmer here in Michigan, I'm starting to see some Short Term Knock Retard on the positive side. For example, on a typical day, I will get anywhere from 1-2.50 degrees of knock and sometimes I have seen knock as high as 5.5 degrees of knock...
So my question is... should I be worried?
I have a custom 93-Octane tune and I only run 93 octane.

Re: Seeing some knock
It's usually at the shift, and recovers fairly quick. I have noticed it on expressway driving as well. I currently do not have a catch can on the car.mikel wrote:at the shifts, or throughout the rpm range?

Do you think running my custom 91 tune with 93 fuel would give me better performance and less knock while the weather is above 80 degrees?

Re: Seeing some knock
knock at the shift is normal, and fine if it recovers quickly...a catch can is always a good idea.
