Shifting Too Hard

Post by jtpowers72 »

I have a 2005 Silverado 1500, and I just bought the inTune and installed the 87 Octane Tune. I didn't make any adjustments to the parameters, but I've noticed the shifting is too 'jerky' after the tune. Before the tune, the shifting was very smooth. It does shift much quicker and firmer with the tune, but depending on the throttle, it can be very jerky. I thought about returning the inTune while it's still under the 30 days, but I wanted to see if there was a way to correct this before returning it.

Thanks Zach. I've attached my files, but I may have figured it out. The only place I was seeing the rough shift was from 1>2. Knowing this, I went into the adjustable parameters and backed down the shift pressure 15% on both the part throttle shift pressure and the WOT shift pressure for the 1>2 shift. This seems to have smoothed it out a lot. However, I don't want to stick a band-aid on something that has a bigger fix, so if you don't care, go ahead and take a look at it anyway. The last written tune does have the 15% reduction in shift pressure.

By the changes you have made, you've actually moved the shift pressure a little under stock, if you'd like i can reset the pressures at low throttle input back to stock and still keep the firm pressure 3/4 throttle and above. Or just return all of it to stock. Let me know what you'd like.

I definitely didn't realize I had reduced it that much. 3/4 throttle is where I've experienced the roughest shifts from 1>2. Low throttle and full throttle were relatively smooth. Is it possible for you to return just the 1>2 to stock for all throttle positions while leaving all other shifts where they are on the canned tune?

Thanks so much Zach. One last question, and I'll leave you alone. Is there a way to delete custom tunes from the inTune? The reason I ask is because I saved a tune as a custom tune after making changes to the shift pressure. Now that you have created this tune for me, I do not need those and do not want to mistakenly choose one. How can I delete them?

Yes, go to Settings/Advanced/Erase Custom Tunes and you can get rid of what you don't want.
