Throttle body spacer with diablo tune?

Post by clayboy_123 »

Has anyone used this setup yet? If so has anyone used afepower? If so, do you know if supplied gasket goes behind spacer closest to manifold or in front of spacer closest to throttle body? Finally did anyone notice any problems in transmission shifting after installation of spacer?

Throttle body spacers are worthless with modern EFI engines. They do nothing except confuse the computer and offer an extra place for vacuum leaks. In the past a (carb) spacer could be used to vary the powerband, but that doesn't work with EFI. Add in the fact that most current manifolds are plastic and don't hold eat and you lose the second reason for a carb spacer, which was heat reduction.

Anyway, the gasket goes where theres no O-ring. If the stock O ring is in the manifold, then use the gasket by the throttle body. If the O-ring is in the throttle body, use the gasket by the manifold.
