Throttle blade pos.

Throttle blade pos.
I got information from two trusted sources on the Diablo forum, that the throttle blade pos. max opening on a '11 Charger R/T 5.7 is about 76% or so. Is there a reason it does not open any further?

Re: Throttle blade pos.
thats just a value, look at the throttle, it is opened at a 90* angle.
Some vehicles show 127% for WOT...just a value.

So does that meat at full throttle you are only actually getting about 3/4 throttle? That just seems weird. Why wouldn't Chrysler make the throttle open all the way? I seems like it would only add to the performance numbers that they get to advertise?

Re: Throttle blade pos.
I was a little confused about this as well. Didnt seem right.
So I looked at the TB at rest and its at ...gee about 24% open( really go look at it ts not totally verticle). So I figured the TB actual value is anything above that and WOT would be...24 +76 = 100%!
This has no basis in fact, It was just a guess on my part, as I just learned from the answer you got form DIABLO, but I like my answer better.

It can't be vertical. There's no IAC motor on Drive by wire engines, so it needs to be open to get any air in, which it needs to run.

Re: Throttle blade pos.
My custom tune is causing throttle position to jump from around 40% to 127% and it takes off. The tuner could not explain why. 2009 Ram 1500 5.7L with 6.4 stroker, 6.4 ported heads, 6.1 intake, LT headers, comp cam, stock 81mm TB. I tested TB by measuring the TPS outputs - they range from 0-5V smoothly as the valve opens. I don't know what the PCM is sending to the TB at various accelerator positions when running obviously. As I monitor on Trinity, I can see the there is no response from accelerator pedal position, yet there is Throttle Position % changing. Once I hit about 50-60% pedal position, the TB opens abruptly to maximum of 127%. It's very annoying and I'm missing out on mid range performance as a result. Truck has almost 90k miles...I'm going to change the O2 sensors with stock, and I'm thinking about swapping out the TB with a BBK 90mm. Then send the truck back if for retune. Any ideas out there why this is happening?
