2014 Ford Explorer Sport

Post by DiCunzolo »

I installed the premium fuel tune and if you make any modifications to it at all the engine shuts off around 2800rpm, I thought it was something with the shift firmness or even the fuel trim but any modification to it at all makes the engine shut off or fall flat on its face. Can someone shed some light on why this happens? Trinity tuner just received a few days ago installed all updates until none were available.

Go to options - troublshooting - show calibration ID and tell me what that says.

Also what modifications are you making with the tool? Be specific please.

PCM-KJDH2GC
While datalogging saw wot lambda being 10.5:1 I tried leaning out 2%, changed shift points by 5 mph, changed Coolant temp to 180 for the stat. I incrementally removed changes to see what was the issue and any change triggered problems. I became concerned for the well being of the engine and just loaded the unmodified tune.

It's 10.5 for the catalysts, so they don't melt.

It may have been the shift points possibly.

I narrowed the parameter that causes the issue, the fuel table 2-4k when leaning it 2% at exactly 3500rpm's it shuts down and throws a PO607 Control module performance code.

Could you make that specific modification with the tool and load it to the truck and right after that read it out as the last tune written and post it. You don't have to leave it like that you can restore or change it right after you read out of the tool. I just need the file as the tool wrote it.

The P0607 is a checksum issue so I need to see it.

If you could do that it would save a lot of time

Thank you

Brian,

Here is the tune with changes made in the same order that I did the first time and the last change made was the 2-4k lean by 2%.

Thanks

Is there a boost gauge for us Explorer guys or is that only for the F150s?

the boost gauge should show up in one of the preloaded layouts.

If you want to add it its under the synthesized group.

Hey Brian,

Any news on the check sum issue? If I were to go to a 3bar map sensor would you be able to utilize more boost in the premium fuel tune?

I am still having this problem with the premium fuel tune, if I raise shift point speed by 5 mph in all gears the engine will stall on decel.
I have the latest update installed.
