time and date stamps on logs

Is there a way to set the correct time and date? Seems every time I log (which is very frequent now a days) I get the same Jan 1, 1980 12:00AM on all my logs I transfer to the SD card.

I looked for a setting but could not find anything.

no way to set the date/time...

there's no internal running clock on the tools to keep track of that...

This may be a daft question - but doesn't the car know what time/day it is?


isn't that information available through OBD2 to the i2 so the datalogs could have have meaningful time/date stamps?

no... the clock on a vehicle is via the BCM - body control module, or the cluster.. and the tools do not read/access those modules at all.. only the ECM/TCM for engine and tranny.. and there is nothing in those for time..

The dates on the inTune never change. There is no internal clock on the tool to keep track of dates/times. The date is hard-coded in the tool, so the dates won't change.

newest logs have the highest number in the file name.. i.e. _00, _01, _02, _03, etc.. highest number is newest log...
