2008 GT500

Post by OneBadMF »

I just installed Magnaflow axel back exhaust, K&N CAI. I just can't get a favorable tune with what's provided. After removing the K&N, the 93 octane seems to work. How much HP is this tune prviding and how much more HP can I expect with a good tune for the K&N? Also, I'm noticing that when I come off full throttle, my RPM drop is somewhat delayed. Any input on this? When will there be a K&N tune?

Man I just did the same tune on my 03 Cobra and am having the same issues with idle drop being delayed. I am trying to get this figured out also.

You're going to get about 15hp with the tune but also driveability and efficiency. The 05+ mustangs all react greatly to a simple CAI. Our tuner here is bringing in a GT500 to do some intake tunes (including K&N) so that he can add them into the Predator.

I have tunes for most of the Cold Air kits for the GT500's.

No I don't have an ETA on this, he is working on supporting the new CALIDs at the moment.

GT500 Hanging Idle

Post by perfdyno »

I am tuning a 07 gt500 with the 3.4l whipple and whipples monoblade throttle body and the JLT CAI. I can not get the idle to stop hanging especially when the car is moving. I have tried all the basics for example changing the dashpot decay rate, changing the electronic throttle effective area, These mods to the tune seem to instantly put the car into failsafe engine mode. I have even called and emailed tech support. NOTHING seems to be making it better and the tech support has left me hangin, but I guess this is not their primary or even secondary concern they seem only interested in producing more flash tuners for more new cars when the cant even seem to properly support or understand how the current in production tuners work  ..........Please help a fellow tuner if you are able.

Christina thanks for your concern. I talked to Mikel and emailed CMRTECH and I got a limited response from Kevin he sent me a tune from another GT500 that also has the whipple throttle body, but the base file it was made from is not the same.

Robert, I'd email Kevin and ask for some help, as he has the most GT500 experience around here for sure.

Thanks
