you will always have to show dsdl a copy of the stock tune so it can compare the files and load the custom tune properly.

Re: How can i check original backup file
Had another question on pairing up our tune with original backup file.
What if i loaded a tune revision and used a different original backup file to pair it up with.
When i load the tune to my car, will my car not run appropriate because im not using the correct original backup file or is this backup file only when viewing on ds downloader or data viewer ?

Re: How can i check original backup file
I guess what I am trying to say is if I load the correct Tune but I pair it with the wrong original backup file from DS downloader , and into my car.
Will my car not run good since I don't have the correct original backup file ?
Or is the backup file only used for ds downloader when comparing the tune vs stock tune ?

Re: How can i check original backup file
it wouldn't let you use a wrong/different version original backup file.. when you try to install it, you will get errors..
if you have an old outdated original backup stock tune file, just delete it from your computer so there's no confusion
that way you'll know you are always selecting the correct original backup going forward...
