I'd post up the backup file and last tune written from the drive for them to look at in the morning if I were you.

Ahh, 8.1

That explains everything, they can be really odd, the OS are all over the place, please let it read out the stock tune, post that file here and tell me what octane you run and I will get you a good custom tune.

If these aren't what you need I don't know what else to do for you. If it needs to install a tune in order to record my stock one, well we're sol. The unit has reverted to failing to write any tune to the vehicle again. Windows has been telling me this whole time that there's a problem with the device and it needs to scan and fix it. I haven't done anything of the kind because I was worried it would wipe software in an attempt to fix what it sees as a problem. 91 octane, cold air intake, headers.

Nobody ever responded to let me know if the last file were what were needed or not or if further steps need be taken. If they are, any idea on when we might see the problem resolved?

Well it's been two weeks since I had this problem now. And we still haven't made any progress. Just how patient should I be given the fact that I paid for a complete and finished product that is neither? I am trying to be really nice about this, but don't sell me something that's not finished when you advertise that it is a finished working product. Then ask me to be patient after you have my money and I have something that is not working as advertised. If it doesn't work guys, maybe we should stop selling it until we can get it working. I'd be more patient with you had you called me when I ordered it and said "we are having issues getting this thing to work correctly, once we solve them we'll be happy to complete your order. Please be patient with us while we work out the bugs and/or develop a tune for your vehicle.".

So I finally got home and got around to doing this. The tool worked, installed the tune. The tune though is terrible. Lots of hesitation leaving stop lights etc. This is a motor with just under 4k miles on it. Again though, we have a bigger problem than just a bad tune. I tried to rewrite the stock tune back. It failed half way through and now will not write anything. Anything at all. I have a truck sitting in my driveway that may as well be a fountain. It can't start or anything because the unit failed while writing. It wont re-install the tune, it now simply says that my vehicle isn't supported! I'm really underwhelmed with your products since the holley switch! I'd really like to have my truck back some time soon.

please post a copy of the info.xml file from the i2 drive.

if you have an aftermarket stereo, disconnect it from the factory harness and let the tool try again please.

just to confirm, the aftermarket harness is disconnected from the factory harness?

If so and it still will not talk, please give us a call so we can try forcing the stock tune back in.

aftermarket stereo is unplugged as we speak. It's a smart deck and uses power when it's not on. I disconnected it because I was going to be gone for the coldest months. Tuner still isn't doing anything. Have a friend who is a mechanic from the GMC dealership coming over to my house now to see if he can't get my truck running again for me.
